The Matterhorn is a majestic and iconic mountain in the Swiss Alps, with its distinct pyramid shape and sheer rock faces captivating the imagination of all who behold it.
A few years ago, I had a wonderful vacation in Switzerland for two weeks. During the stay, I went to Zermatt and stayed for 7 days. I didn’t know what to expect, but once I got there, I was thoroughly impressed just how beautiful the place was. Besides tbe breathtaking views, even the train ride to Zermatt was a sight to behold.
I took some of my favorite photos in Gornegrat, including a few panoramic shots with the Matterhorn. I don’t post my photos here because they would immediately reveal my identity, but I’ll post a story for those who know who I am IRL.
Long story short, I wanted to recreate the experience of my vacation there. Although I don’t snowboard, I can imagine how thrilling it must be — I enjoy skydiving, and some of my friends who snowboard and skydive would often compare the two.
So that‘s why I even made the series of camping photos at the Swiss Alps — in the story that I imagined, the men would camp near the Matterhorn during the summer, then go snowboard in the winter. A few days ago, I happen upon an Instagram feed of a gay couple who live in Switzerland, and I can see that they really love the place as much as I do. So I thought that it won’t be so far-fetched to imagine that someone would be visiting this place all year round.
