Dragons hold special meanings to me. I was also born in the year of dragon, so I made some renders combining men and dragons last year. Coincidentally, 2024 is the Year of the Dragon. Although technically the Year of the Dragon doesn’t happen until February in 2024, I thought that I would post these anyway. I’m sure that I would’ve forgotten about these images in February.
I made these renders originally in July 2023. I actually really liked this set, but I never posted any of them because there were issues. @pigling.ai made a comment yesterday that he didn’t mind the issues — stating that it‘s just a reflection of the technology that we have right now. I like this angle, so I thought that I will just post them.
In many ways, he is correct. He compared today’s AI issues to the early days of digital photography, where the poor image quality had a unique charm. I purchased my first digital camera in 1998 and worked on several photography projects with it. Now, when I look back at those photos, I sometimes feel the urge to reshoot them with the modern cameras that I now use, but I also appreciate the beauty in the imperfections that are specific to that camera.
